Sail away with us!

 ITALY TO GREECE!

Three beautiful countries on one amazing cruise, a dream come true for us!

Greece has always been on our bucket list. The beautiful Aegean Sea, the stunning islands with white-washed houses, and amazing Greek ruins tell us about the past. Ancient Greece was the birthplace of democracy - the ancient Greeks created city-states. They also began marathons, and then hosted the first olympics.  The Greeks worshipped ancient gods and goddesses, giving us classical greek mythology.

And let's not forget the Romans known for their military, political and social institutions, and who conquered vast regions of Europe and Northern Africa. With 1000 years of incredible art, Italy has also been on our bucket list. Imagine how excited we were when  our partners, Travel by Georgia, told us this cruise was available for our group - Italy, Croatia and Greece!

And on a beautiful new ship from Oceania Cruises, known for small luxury ships and fine dining experiences at exotic locations around the world.

Our ship, the Vista, is the newest addition to the Oceania family. Its stylish design features spaces reflecting organic elements inspired by the land and sea, and staterooms are very comfortable and luxurious.

And your hosts and entertainers are Sunny Jim and Scott Kirby! Intimate private shows on board, exploring exciting locations on land and more to be announced.

PORTS OF CALL

Oct 13, 2024

Rome, Italy

The cruise departs from Rome, the 'Eternal City'" - the capital of Italy and its largest city. Rome is home of the Roman Empire, the Seven Hills, La Dolce Vita, Vatican City, St Peter's Basilica, Three Coins in the Fountain, the Colosseum and Forum. The ancient civilization of Rome has been influential in the modern world.  Ancient Romans pioneered science and technology, establishing tools and methods that have shaped the way the world does certain things. The Romans were great engineers who understood the laws of physics enough to develop aqueducts and better ways to assist water flow. There is much to see and tour in Rome, and you can also visit Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius as a day trip.

The Amalfi Coast

As we leave Rome and cruise south, we'll enjoy Italy’s Amalfi Coast, famous for its picturesque and historic seaside towns with steep narrow roads, dramatic cliffs, and beautiful beaches. Limoncello liqueur made from lemons grown in terraced gardens is produced along the entire Amalfi Coastline between February and October.

Positano, Italy

Positano is a cliffside village on southern Italy's Amalfi Coast. It's a well-known holiday hotspot with a pebble beachfront and steep, narrow streets lined with boutiques and cafes. Day trips can also be made to Pompeii, Mt Vesuvius, and the island of Capri.

Catania, Sicily

Catania is an ancient port city on Sicily's east coast. It sits at the foot of Mt. Etna, an active volcano with trails leading up to the summit. The city's central square, Piazza del Duomo, features the Fontana dell'Elefante statue and Catania Cathedral. In the southwest corner of the square, La Pescheria weekday fish market is an entertaining attraction surrounded by seafood restaurants. Tours are available to Mt Etna, Duomo Square and Ursino Castle.

TV WATCHERS: The current season of The White Lotus HBO series was filmed in Catania, and it looks gorgeous. Check it out.

Corfu, Greece

This is an Island of glorious scenery and beaches, quiet monasteries, stunning palaces, traditional mountain towns and Corfu's lovely old Venetian quarter. At Vornate Achilleion Palace, built by Empress Sissi of Austria, we’ll see dramatic sculptures of the Greek hero Achilles.

Oct 17, 2024

Katakolon, Greece (Olympia)

This is ancient Olympia where the Olympic Games began in 776 B.C. If you are a history buff, take a stroll around this deserted sanctuary, admiring the temples, altars and treasuries, and stand on the ground where ancient athletes practiced before competing. Or take a pleasant drive through the countryside past quaint villages to a local vineyard and sample the wines, local cheeses and other foods.

Oct 18, 2024

Santorini, Greece

Santorini is famous for its whitewashed and picturesque hilltop towns of Oia and Fira which offer breathtaking views of the caldera below. Fira's museum is filled with stunning artifacts, including recent finds from the excavation of Akrotiri, thought by many to be the legendary city of Atlantis. You can visit a winery, or stroll through the winding streets with fantastic views around every corner.

Oct 19, 2024

Mykonos, Greece

Mykonos is a delightful seaside village with whitewashed houses that are adorned with brightly painted doors and shutters. Wander through the village’s narrow, winding streets and visit its archaeological museum, or stop by an old bakery that still uses a 15th century wood-burning stove. Another thing you can do on Mykonos is to stand beneath the windmills on the hill, great photo op!

Athens Greece

We arrive in Athens at the end of our cruise, and always on our bucket list! We’ll climb up the magnificent Acropolis and see the ancient Parthenon and beautiful Greek temples, long a personal dream for me. The views of Athens stretched out before us - I can hardly wait! Athens city highlights include the new and old Olympic stadiums. You can also journey to Cape Sounion and the temple of Poseidon, that overlooks the sea. Ancient Corinth its narrow Corinth Canal is also a great attraction. The canal was cut through miles of solid rock.
