Top singer songwriters are gathering in our Osprey, FL neighborhood from November 2 - 5, 2023 to chill together after MOTM and create new music, and you can be a part of it! that is the weekend after Meeting of The Minds which is being held in Orange Beach, AL. This means restructuring our event somewhat, but we'll have an update on that as soon as we can.
We hope you can join us for the second annual Suncoast Serenade - the only songwriters event of its kind - on its new date here on the beautiful SW Florida Gulf Coast.
To celebrate the troprock music scene with local talent, and to honor a songwriter who immortalized our Southwest Florida lifestyle with his music, Sunny Jim is hosting Florida-based artists Jimi Pappas, John Patti, Beth Travers and Dave Signs, in his hometown of Osprey, Florida. Also participating is songwriting legend Brent Burns of Orange Beach, AL. With the new schedule we may see some new faces in the lineup.
The idea behind the Suncoast Serenade is to gather our songwriters In Osprey, to experience the “old Florida” feel and give them time to collaborate and write new music together. We hosted our first Suncoast Serenade last year, and it was such a success that we decided to do it again. We look forward to new music from our songwriters, but guests can also submit song ideas and lyrics for consideration (no guarantee that they will be used).
We have also added intimate workshops with the songwriters where guests can join in to discuss the songwriting process, the art of studio production and the artist's own personal experiences in the music industry. Our host hotel is Casey Key Resorts in Osprey, Fl.
LIMITED BEACHFRONT ACCOMMODATIONS are available on Nokomis Beach with our VIP Package.

No celebration of Troprock music in Southwest Florida is complete without honoring the songwriter who immortalized our saltwater lifestyle, Jim Morris, who died almost 7 years ago.
“Jim paved the way for all of us, and helped build this supportive music community that we all now enjoy,” said long-time friend Sunny Jim. “We miss him, but we have vowed to keep his music alive.”
James, Jimi Pappas and John Patti will pay tribute to Jim during the final set of a concert on the final night of the event, and a custom-made Jim Morris Signature guitar will also be auctioned to raise money for Shoes for Kids in Charlotte County. Through the years, Jim and Sharon Morris raised considerable funds for their favorite charity.
Boise, ID luthier Mike Giltzow, who built a custom guitar for Jim Morris in 2008, has built the signature guitar specifically for the auction. The original guitar that Mike built for Jim, was gifted back to Giltzow after Jim died. Connie Morrell, Sharon Morris’s sister now owns Jim’s musical estate. “I thought Mike should have Jim’s guitar back, since he built it for Jim,” she said.
From the Fish-Head Studios in Punta Gorda back to Mike Giltzow’s home in Boise, Jim Morris’s custom-built guitar is back where was made.
The custom signature guitar will be auctioned live during the grand finale.
