Our History with the Cayman Islands
Our love story begins in the Cayman Islands. In 1987 I (Adela) quit my job as a TV Reporter in Houston to pursue my island dreams and never looked back. Fate sent me to Grand Cayman, where I landed a public relations and marketing job. James arrived on the island a few months later with a band from Nashville that had landed a year-long contract with the only nightclub on the island. I was a groupie who became a girlfriend. When the band left for Nashville, James stayed and was hired by the Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman as the resort's Artist-in-Residence. Here, he honed his skills as a performer,
writing and singing songs about island life and Caribbean culture.
Livin' the Dream in Cayman
We WERE living the dream, and we never took it for granted. We were part of a close-knit Hyatt family of employees, many of whom stay in touch from far corners of the world. James worked afternoons and evenings, and he met people from all over the world at the Hyatt, including Jimmy Buffett. Because of the resort's high number of repeat visitors, he watched kids grow up year after year. He still stays in touch with many of the guests he met there.
Raising Babies on an island
We began our life together in Grand Cayman. Falling in love and getting married on the island made it home for us. Raising our twin baby girls othere was a wonderful experience that only strengthened our ties to the island and our community. Many of us were raising families, so we enjoyed playdates on Seven Mile Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches anywhere. There were family dinners, get-togethers at Rum Point, and diving with friends. James and I always hosted a Thanksgiving Day feast for friends who couldn't be home for the holiday. We had friends from all over the world, and I loved hearing the variety of accents every day.

Group Fun on the island
When we host a group to the Cayman Islands, our experience, connections and knowledge of the island helps us plan a fun itinerary for our travelers. James and I organize activities during the day and concerts at night. We also believe in giving you plenty of time on your own to explore Cayman at your own pace because the island is safe and easy to get around.

Our host hotel is the Grand Cayman Marriott Resort on Seven Mile Beach. This photo doesn't show a beach,
but by the time we get there in November 2027, the resort will have a big sandy beach. The Marriott is currently undergoing a beach restoration project that will be completed by then. We have reserved a block of rooms for our group,
and you must book your room directly with the resort using the live link below.
The initial reservation page will show a $65 per night resort fee, but our group is getting a reduced fee $30 per night, and the correct amount should show once you complete your booking. You must book your rooms using the booking link below. Once you have booked a room, if you need to make any changes you can then call the hotel, but call-in booking will not be available until December 1. Please be aware that in order to attend our private events, you must be booked at the Marriott wtih our group.
There will be an ISLAND PACKAGE fee added when the size of our group is determined. This package fee incudes concerts, some meals, select activities and some transportation. That fee will be determined once I have an idea of the group size, and it will be paid directly to Laidback Lane Productions, Inc. (Sunny Jim Music).
