Train Depot Songwriter Series

Since 2006 Sunny Jim has hosted songwriter shows  in the Freight Room of the historic Venice Train Depot in Venice, FL. The depot  is a historic former Seaboard Air Line Railroad station located at 303 East Venice Avenue .This is where soldiers left to fight in the war, and this is where the circus came to town for its winter home. The Freight Room is perfect for acoustic shows with its cool brick walls, wood floors and large windows.  The songwriters swap songs and tell the stories behind the songs. Shows are well attended and space is limited so reservations must be made in advance. All contributions go to the performers.  Attendees are welcome to bring a small cooler with their own beverages.  No food is allowed in the Freight Room, but some regular attendees tailgate in the parking lot before the show.
