In 1992 while we were living in the Cayman Islands, Adela and I had the chance to move to Hawaii. We started wrapping things up in Cayman for new jobs in Waikaloa on the Big Island of Hawaii, when we found out we were going to be parents. This changed our plans and we stayed in Cayman until 2000. But we always wondered...what if?
In 2008, we had the chance to visit Hawaii for the first time with our friends Tom and Michelle Becker on this same NCL cruise. Hawaii surpassed our expectations. The islands are beautiful, lush and colorful. Each has it's own look and feel, and the history and culture they share is incredible and captivating. While on the beach on Oahu’s North Shore watching the surfers on The Pipeline, we heard kids playing in a nearby schoolyard. Adela looked at me and said "we could live here." I agreed. We can't say that about most places.
The soul of the islands and the sea in Hawaii is the strongest I have ever felt anywhere. Life seemed so harmonious and balanced there. We felt a very strong connection to the Hawaiian Islands and vowed to go back. Now we are!
We are so excited to be sharing it with our friends Jerry Diaz and Brent Burns, and you too!
The adventure begins in Honolulu on the island of Oahu, home of Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head, the North Shore, the Bonzai Pipeline, the Pearl Harbor Memorial and so much more. We'll spend a few days exploring the island before the cruise, so we've arranged an optional hotel package for our Ohana. We depart from, and return to, the Port of Honolulu. Overnight stays in certain ports give you plenty of time to explore the islands.

Lahaina Recovery Efforts
We visited Lahaina in 2008, and loved it's laidback atmosphere and beautiful coastline. We are heart-broken that the quaint streets and neighborhoods we wandered through, and admired, are now gone because of the recent devastating fire. We don't know what will be happening in Maui in 2025, but we want to help with the recovery in Lahaina and it's resident's through our NCL cruise. Happy to announce that a portion of the proceeds from this cruise will go to help the people of Lahaina!
